Memorial Trees
Many of our large selection of trees and shrubs of various
species and our fruit trees are suitable for use as memorial trees.
If this is of any interest to you, please contact Colin through the "Contact Us"
page of this web-site.
We tailor our service for these trees to meet your needs, and we will provide them as potted
specimens, bare root or, if required, will plant these trees for you on your property.
All memorial trees planted by us, or supplied and kept as potted specimens come with a
limited guarantee, such that if having looked after your memorial tree in the
recommended way, it does not survive, we will replace it free of charge.
What do we mean by "the recommended way"? Trees of any species require
regular watering after planting, particularly during the summer months, and
surpisingly to many people the amounts of water required can be quite large,
depending on the size of the tree. Typically an eight foot rowan tree for
example, will require four or five litres of water each day after planting.
A full set of instructions will be supplied with the tree or shrub.
If you are planting a tree yourself, the size of hole can be critical.
The hole should be larger than the size of the root system of the tree (bare
root trees supplied by us will have had their roots pruned appropriately).
The depth should allow for
a good bottom layer of compost which is required in the hole before planting,
and of course regular watering is essential.
More detailed instructions are available from THS. Please contact Colin
for further details.
